Thiago Sampaio launches his new book “Brisa Baiana”
Thiago Sampaio, art director and photographer from Bahia – Brazil, has just released his new book titled Brisa Baiana, which showcases stunning photographs of classic surfing amidst the breathtaking natural landscapes of Brazil’s Northeast coast.
The work brings to light the deep connection between humans and nature, capturing unique and inspiring moments. For this project, Thiago combined his two greatest passions: photography and surfing. To achieve these remarkable shots, he aligned his technical and creative skills — and the result is truly surprising.
Over the past few years, Thiago has increasingly sought to participate in projects centered around lifestyle and sports.
With more than six years of experience in the audiovisual market, he has collaborated with major brands such as Jeep, Arezzo, and Decathlon, and has produced remarkable projects for Ambev, particularly for its brands Bohemia, Goose Island, and Corona. Recently, he took part in an incredible project with Corona, sailing across the Bay of All Saints alongside three oceanographers — capturing breathtaking images along the journey.
In 2022, Thiago decided to further explore his artistic side and launched Brisa Baiana, a true work of art. The photos in the book convey the sensitivity and creativity that define his artistic vision.
Thiago explains that he had always dreamed of creating a tangible piece — something that could be felt and experienced beyond sight, evoking the scent and touch alongside the visual beauty of his photographs.
He also emphasizes the connection between writing and photography, believing that the two art forms complement each other — raising questions and reflections that one alone might not fully express. Through his work, Thiago aims to inspire others to strengthen their connection with nature and explore new forms of artistic expression.
